Sponge tape? I never knew they made such stuff. I guess one would tape a sponge with it? But...wouldn't water ruin the tape? Or maybe it's an audio thing...in which case, what does a sponge sound like?

I think sponge tape is that double-sided tape that has a spongy padding between the two sticky sides. You would use it if you needed some flexibility/ allowance for pressure between the 2 things you are taping together.
